Agung is the highest point on Bali, 3142m. Last volcano eruption occurred in 1963.
To the Balinese people Agung is the center of the universe. Their gods live on top of the Great Mountain. According to Balinese myth, the deities made mountains for their thrones and placed the highest, Gunung Agung.
The tourists from different countries climb to this place to see the sunrise and stunning panoramic view. But, it is a somewhat difficult trek and requires a good level of physical fitness.
